Sarfraz Syed Yaseen is an architect and urban designer with over a decade of experience in the field. He holds a Master of Urban Design from the School of Planning and Architecture in Delhi and a Bachelor of Architecture from R V School of Architecture in Bangalore. His passion for sustainable and inclusive urban development has driven him to work on several projects that incorporate these principles.

Sarfraz’s work experience includes a diverse range of projects, including residential and commercial architecture, as well as urban design. He began his career as an intern architect at Ganesh Bala & David Nightingale Architects in Auroville and has since worked at Anil Dube Architects and Parallax Architects in Bangalore. He also worked as a junior architect at Play Architecture, where he was responsible for hospitality, work centres, interior architecture, and parametric architecture modelling.

Currently, Sarfraz is an Associate Architect and partner at Design Consortium in Coimbatore, where he is responsible for complete architecture profiling of residential, commercial, and urban design projects. He also serves as an Associate Professor and Visiting Faculty at Nehru school of Architecture in Coimbatore, where he leads the Urban Design studio and Thesis studio, guiding students through urban design semesters and theses. In addition, he is a Project Architect and Urban Designer and a member of CTAG (City Technical Advisory Group) – Consultant at Coimbatore Smart City Limited.

Sarfraz’s expertise in conceptualization, execution, and complete architecture profiling of projects has helped him evolve the urban design practice and bring a responsive change to the city and social character of Coimbatore.

Sarfraz has been instrumental in the street redevelopment project in Coimbatore and has contributed to various urban design projects in the city, through his PG thesis on Water Sensitive Urbanism, Coimbatore, Integrating the Blue-Green Spine in Coimbatore city, a catalyst to urban life across its blue-green spine. His contributions to urban design and architecture have made him a valuable member of the design community, and he continues to strive towards creating sustainable, inclusive, and responsive urban spaces.
